Paignton holiday

A few weeks back Barry started talking about a motorbike show he would love to go to called BMAD, it's an annual show in Paignton over the May Bank holiday. After a little chat we decided to spend a little of our savings and all go away for the whole weekend.

After searching many websites and reading reviews I found and booked a caravan for us to stay in just outside of Paignton. I was looking for a small site that was not commercialised. Whitehill was all we could have asked for, a small family run site with everything you could wish for. Swimming pool, tick. Large open spaces, tick. Dogs allowed, tick. Fish & Chip shop, tick. Bar for G&T's, tick.

We arrived and all three of us (Barry was riding down on his bike) squealed as we drove into Whitehills. It was a beautiful summer evening as we drove to our little home for the weekend. The caravan was big, clean and looked after. The boys jumped on their beds while I unpacked. As soon as Daddy arrived it was down to the Fish & Chip bar for tea

Saturday was spent at Paignton zoo, a real must if you are in the area. We got back to the park just in time for an evening swim and drinks at the pool

Barry was up bright and early on the next day making our long tradition of Sunday pancakes. He was then off on his bike for the day at BMAD where we had agreed to meet him later. The boys and I then hatched a plan for find as secluded a beach as possible. Fishcove was found and what a beach it was, really small and with us the only ones there for over 2 hours it was perfect. The boys played in rock pools and in the sea while I watched and breathed in the cool salty air.

BMAD was the complete opposite, loud and full of the smell of bikes. Asa and Jasper loved it

When we had arrived at Whitehill Jasper found a leaflet for Dinosaur world, he did not stop talking about it the entire time so I promised faithfully that we would go. Torquey is just how I remember it as a child, my Nan used to take my sister and I there in the summer holidays while my Mum was working. It was still full of old people and boats!

This time together as a family really means so much to me, I know all of my boys enjoyed it too

Take care, Natalie xx
