Happy children

I am sat in bed early, very early for me in fact. Barry is in his shed making, I have asked him to make us a coffee table after he made his very first chair last week, crazily clever my boy is. No more detail apart from I would like to store things in it as well as put things on it. He's using hardwood pallets he found, I'll keep you updated with how he's  getting on.

I have spent my day with 13 lovely little children teaching them how to have fun decorating cakes. They all did so well, nothing beats happy children, it's official

I'm teaching again tomorrow, two classes so will no doubt be pooped by the end of the day

I will let you all know how it goes

My loves

Saturday afternoon in the woods with all my boys

We found corns all through the woods, how odd. Not sure which animal would be eating them?

Little water holes for little animals

The first puff ball mushroom I ever saw, thank you my love for showing me

The now infamous den

Saturday rice soup for tea

On our way to Uley, what a sky

Free fireworks, cider, wine for me and hot dogs for the boys

My little ones face in the glow

Sunday stroll on our way to the town hall teas

Cushion making

Today was spent in a world of fabrics, ribbons, bondaweb, tea and women. I took a class, an owl cushion class to be exact and what a hoot I had ( sorry!)

I chose 2 beautiful linens to use for my front and back, one a 1950s tea towel and the other a hand embroidered linen napkin. I love the fact I am reusing old fabrics and turning them into something new.

My new friend is not finished, I want to hand embroider the roses on the back so will be tinkering with it for the next few weeks. I will be sure to show you the finished owl once I have finished it

The New Forest - Weekend stories

This weekend was spent at my sisters new house in the New Forest. I am so pleased she has finally made the move there as she has wanted to live there for such a long time. Her house is so lovely and she and Paul her partner made us feel so welcome with home made lasagna, soft beds and plenty of laughs

Highcliff beach was beautiful this weekend, crisp autumnal air but warm sunshine

Me waiting for my boys and their ice creams

The little ones marching to the beach

October, in his pants and loving the sea

The outside space next to my sisters house is just perfect, my boys made friends with 7 other children, cycling, scooting and swinging all safe and away from cars

New friends
This weekend we:

Ate fish & chips
Cycled
Visited my mum for coffee
Went to the beach twice
Made new friends
Walked in the woods and splashed
Bought treasures at the car boot
Ate pancakes
Swam in the hot tub
Watched Dora
Drove home happy

As I drove my boys home I asked them what their favourite part of the weekend was? Asa said he loved playing hide and seek in the rocks at the beach, Jasper said holding grandmas hand. For me it was carrying take away coffees walking down to the beach, hearing the noise of my bertie flip flops as I treaded on the soft grass kept short by the beach rabbits. Crashing waves and the warm sun on my cheeks
